Laughing

Ruby was playing with a tape measure and would pull it out and let it go back in fast. Ezra thought it was the funniest thing ever.

Update

I'm so behind! You'd think with 4 of 6 kids in school that I'd have more time. I have a little more time, but my time is spent cleaning the house, doing dishes, helping with homework, taking care of Ezra and Ruby and then cleaning the house all over again. However, I have had time to listen/read a few awesome talks and make some yummy goodies.

This talk was SO great. You could read it, but I would suggest watching or listening to it to get the full "Elder Holland effect." Very awesome talk.

I love this video. It's short but has a great message that can be applied to several things.

Another AWESOME talk here.

I made this treat and it was a huge hit!
(Note: I didn't put butter in with the white chocolate based on some reviews on the website.)

I made this soup--it was very easy to make and it tasted yummy, too.

Libby's Birthday

Libby celebrated her 9th birthday on the 28th of August. She had been looking forward to it for a while. She woke up to signs and a "Happy Birthday" banner on the fireplace. She requested Pop Tarts, so she had that very nutritious breakfast, then she opened her gifts. She got some new tennis shoes and new piano song books.

At the end of her school day, I took "treats" to her classroom. Her school has a healthy snack policy, so I took in the healthy snack of popcorn! I bought a bunch at Target (I cheated) and put them in individual brown bags. I stamped a birthday image on the front to make it more festive. Libby seemed to quietly enjoy getting to hand out her treat and getting sung to in her class. She wanted to swim for her birthday, so we went over to Brian's parents' for piano lessons and swimming. I also made her favorite dinner--garlic chicken pasta, garlic bread, jell-o and green beans. We followed it up with chocolate cupcakes and ice cream.

Here are 9 things we love about Libby:
1. Her organization and cleaning skills. Unmatched!
2. Her laugh and sense of humor. She's quick and witty.
3. Her piano skills. She loves to play. I love hearing her practice.
4. Her hard work at school.
5. Her gymnastics skills--she worked all summer (at home in the living room, I might add!) and can practically do a front handspring.
6. Her love for Ezra--she always wants to get him out of his crib in the morning and she just loves all the cute things he does. She is always wanting to take pictures of the cute things he does and cute faces he makes.
7. Her desire to choose the right. Even if it's hard, she always wants to choose the right.
8. Her love of reading. She can often be found in her room reading. She loves it!
9. How she thinks deeply about things--she is a ponderer.

Happy birthday, Libby!
